Kimberly Madrigal, Research Assistant

Kimberly Madrigal is a research assistant at CCRC. She focuses on projects related to the implementation and evaluation of guided pathways practices and using data to make the case for credit and noncredit alignment in community colleges. She is pursuing an MA in sociology and education with a concentration in educational policy at Teachers College.

Madrigal comes to Teachers College from the community college-transfer pipeline. She holds an AA in business administration and an AA-T in sociology from Fullerton College. She also has a BA in sociology and Chicana and Chicano studies from California State University, Fullerton.

In 2016, Madrigal collaborated with faculty and students at Fullerton College on a project titled, “Growth Mindset in the Disciplines: A Collaborative Approach to Instructional Innovation at Fullerton College.” She presented findings at the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges: Strengthening Student Success Conference. Additionally, as a McNair Scholar, Madrigal worked on projects that focused on the challenges faced by the Chicanx/Latinx community in higher education, as well as those faced by women of color in the academy, the professoriate, and the educational administrative pipeline.
