A New Way of Helping Students Pay for College: Give Them Corporate Jobs

The nonprofit Education at Work is helping undergraduates pay tuition bills by setting them up with jobs at companies near their colleges. Though research indicates students who work more than a handful of hours a week are more likely to fall behind in class, CCRC Senior Research Scholar Judith Scott-Clayton told the Hechinger Report that spending time at a job is a better use of time than playing video games, for example.
